Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is a brilliant planner and inventor. One night two robbers invade his Philadelphia home and brutally kill his wife and daughter, and almost kill him. Requiem for a Dream is a movie about several people whose lives change dramatically because of their particular addictions. Harry (Jared Leto) and Tyrone (Marlon Wayans) are two friends who live in a big city. They decide to make money by reselling heroin on the street so that they can get away from their dead-end lives. Eventually. they make a fair amount of money. They talk about buying a large amount of extremely pure heroin so that they can make the money they feel they need to “make it”.

The movie opens with a woman (Ane Dahl Torp) being chased through the snows of Norway. She is finally cornered and eaten by zombies in World War II German uniforms.
The movie then moves to seven medical students on Easter vacation. They arrive at a small cabin near Øksfjord, about a 45-minute walk from the road where they have left their cars. The cabin is owned by Sara, another student who is the girlfriend of Vegard (Lasse Valdal), the student in the main group with the most knowledge of the wilderness. She has been skiing across the mountains to meet them, but has not yet arrived.

The movie opens in a bar near Christmas, where a geeky Brad (Vince Vaughn) tries to hit on a confident and bitchy Kate (Reese Witherspoon), who blows him off…until she’s called a bitch. After a short fierce exchange the two are having sex in the bathroom, and running off to the San Francisco trolley to their house, where we find that they are roleplaying, and have been happily together for 3 years. Both are wealthy, and successful. They are happy with the relationship as is and have no plans for marriage or children. They simply want to enjoy life while being with each other, even telling so with glee to a married and engaged couple. During the conversation. both Brad and Kate reveal that they are both from broken homes, and don’t want to repeat that, or bring a child into it either.

Mark, Demetri, Wedeck, and Vreede are in Washington DC, and Wedeck is not happy with what Mark said earlier in the evening. It would seem Wedeck is the master of damage control lately and had to do some earlier in the evening. However, we do not find out as a large SUV t-bones their car. 4 men of Asian descent get out , one of whom fires a grenade launcher at the car. It explodes.
